Frequently Asked Questions
What are the flood zones?
Our flood zone information is available
here
.
Why can't I get passed the login page?
If you can see our login and our entry pages, but can't get any further, it might mean you can't get a secure connection. We use industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) 128-bit encryption to protect your private information such as credit card numbers and contact information. Please contact your IT department to verify that SSL is enabled, or feel free to

Why would I ever need to locate the property on the digital map?
Most of the time, we can use the street address you provide to find the property automatically. However, if the street address is incomplete, or unusual, new, or located on a large plot of land, it may be impossible to automatically locate the property with an accuracy that meets our standards. Since you may know the exact location of the property, pinpointing it on the digital map may make an automated response possible. For information on how to pinpoint a property on the digital map, please

.
How do I pinpoint an address on the digital map?
To pinpoint the property using our digital map, put a check mark in the "locate on map" box that can be found on either the Address Entry page or the Confirm Location page. It is best to use the Address Verification page since you'll be directed there only when our automated systems could not find the address you specified.
Why are some flood hazard determinations not returned automatically?
Our automated systems maintain high accuracy standards. If, for example, the street address you provide is impossible to locate automatically or lies very close to a flood boundary, it may be impossible to provide the answer without the help of a map researcher. You can reduce such problems by locating the property as described
here
.
Is there anything I can do to speed up the flood hazard determination process?
Yes. There are several things you can do to speed up the process. First, and most important, always make sure the street address you provide is as accurate and complete as possible. Second, because sometimes a street address may be too new or located on a large plot of land, adding a legal description will sometimes aid the process. Only use a legal description by itself if no street address is available. Third, you can pinpoint the property location as described
here
.
How do I know when a flood determination is completed?
You can always check the status of an order, completed or otherwise, by visiting your
Order History
page. Or, if you are accessing your flood hazard determination is through another service, you may have another tracking location (i.e. Mortgage XSites can find that information in their working folder).
Can I look at flood hazard determinations that you have provided for me previously?
Yes. By checking your
Order History
page, you can find a record of all orders you have previously submitted.
Can I change the lender to be listed on the flood hazard determination?
For the standard flood hazard determination form to be a legally binding document, it must contain the appropriate lender information for the loan. We recognize that you may not always know who the lender will be at the time you submit your request(s). Therefore, we let you input any lender you wish, and then change it later when you know who the actual lender is. When the lender is unknown, select the
<<Not Assigned>>
in the lender drop-down list. But remember, until you specify a real lender, the determination is not a legally binding document.
Why does it just show
<<Not Assigned>>
when I try to choose a lender for my flood hazard determination?
You are seeing
<<Not Assigned>>
because you have not yet entered any lender information to be listed in the drop-down list. For information on how to add lenders,

.
How can I input the actual lender information?
If you are an account manager, you will be able to add lenders by clicking on the "Edit" link beside the lenders' drop-down list, or by clicking on the "Lender Profiles" page on the
My Account
page. From this page, you may add lenders by pressing "Add New Lender". If you are not the administrator of the account you are using, then you will not be able to find these links--ask your account manager for assistance.
When would I want to choose
<<Not Assigned>>
for a lender?
If you are requesting a flood hazard determination for a property, and you are not sure who the lender will be, then you would normally select
<<Not Assigned>>
as the lender. Later, when you know the actual lender, you can change your selection.
I think there is something wrong with the flood determination. What should I do?
After looking things over carefully, you should

to resolve any issues.
I'm not the only one in my business that needs to use your service. Can I set it up so that we can all share the same billing, and yet still view our orders individually?
Yes. The administrator for your account has the ability to set up separate users who are all billed jointly. The user profiles can be created on the "Contact Management" page which can be accessed through the
My Account
page. Note that only an administrator will have a link to the "Contact Management" page.
Do I get charged for a determination every time I change the chosen lender?
No. You can change the lender as often as you like. You will only be billed once for the determination.
